Obituary

Fueneral services were held May 12, 1975 for Paul Robertson Reid who passed away in Vancouver General Hospital at the age of 61.

Paul was born in Kisbey, Saskatchewan and received his education there.

In 1933, he joined the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals at Camp Borden, where he received his training as a wireless and radio operator. In 1936 he was posted to the RC Signals Radio Station in Dawson City, Yukon as Warrent Officer in charge of the station there. He was transferred in 1948 to Fredericton NB and later to England for 15 months on a Foreman of Signals course after which he was posted to the Signal School in Kingston and promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, In 1955 he was transferred to Army HQ in Ottawa as a Captain where he served until 1963 when he took his discharge to accept a position with Siemens of Canada in Montreal. He was transferred to Vancouver in 1968 as salesman in charge of terminal equipment and instrument sales for western Canada, a position he held until his retirement in 1973.

NOTE: A part of this information in the Obit is incorrect in that Paul Reid was posted to the Dawson station as a corporal and subsequently attained the rank of Warrant Officer there.
